DESCRIPTION:The Empire Area Museum celebrates Heritage Day! This family-friendly event features old-time music and old-fashioned arts and crafts and tricks and treats. Treats include Moomers ice cream\, free popcorn\, and samples of maple sugar candy\, apple cider and butter made on site. \nTricks of the old-time trades are on exhibit\, and demonstrations include log cutting\, yarn spinning\, quilting\, rug hooking\, washboard laundering\, chair caning\, corn shelling\, sauerkraut making\, and more. \nAdmission is free\, and the Glen Lake Fire Department will also be open for tours next door. \nEvent Website: www.empiremimuseum.org

SUMMARY:Empire Hill Climb
DESCRIPTION:Car enthusiasts will be thrilled by this year’s running of the Empire Hill Climb. First run from 1964 to 1980\, the race is back to stay! \nDuring its original running some of the best cars of their time made their way up the hill such as Austin Healey’s\, Jaguar E-Type’s\, AMC Gremlin’s\, Formula Ford and V’s\, Triumph’s\, Corvette’s\, Porsche’s and even a Ferrari or two. This year 50+ cars will compete on the course which is about 3/4 mile long with 8 turns\, up Wilco Road. \nThe hillside offers fantastic spectating as the cars wind their way up the hill where spectators can sit nearly above the race cars – close\, but safe from the action.
