The Cherry Capital Airport (TVC)
The closest airport to the Leelanau Peninsula is in nearby Traverse City (approximately 30-40 minutes away). The Cherry Capital Airport is an easy airport to navigate with only 5 gates and a small baggage claim area. There are plans for construction to start on an expansion in 2026 adding 5 more gates and a new terminal.
If you fly into Traverse City, you’ll want to have a car to explore the Leelanau Peninsula! There are several rental car companies conveniently located right in the airport. It is always a good idea to reserve a rental car ahead of time.
