DESCRIPTION:The Leelanau Harvest Tour is a great biking adventure for both families and single riders as the fall colors begin to show and apple trees are laden with fruit. \nStarting with registration at Herman Park in Suttons Bay\, routes of approximately 18\, 38\, and 70 miles wind throughout beautiful Leelanau County on excellent paved roads passing by farms\, orchards\, vineyards\, dunes\, and through quaint villages. \nSo come\, ride\, relax\, and enjoy all that this beautiful peninsula has to offer. \nPost-Ride Harvest Lunch: North Park in Suttons Bay has full restroom and hand washing capabilities on site. Your picnic lunch will be located overlooking beautiful Suttons Bay on the waterfront with accompanying music. The picnic runs from 11:00 to 4:00 so all riders will need to time their departures appropriately. \nRide Fees: \n$60 – (3/1 – 5/31) \n$65 – (6/1 – 9/14) \n$75 – “Day of Ride” registration (lunch choices may be limited) \n$35 – children 12 and under \n

SUMMARY:Empire Hill Climb
DESCRIPTION:Car enthusiasts will be thrilled by this year’s running of the Empire Hill Climb. First run from 1964 to 1980\, the race is back to stay! \nDuring its original running some of the best cars of their time made their way up the hill such as Austin Healey’s\, Jaguar E-Type’s\, AMC Gremlin’s\, Formula Ford and V’s\, Triumph’s\, Corvette’s\, Porsche’s and even a Ferrari or two. This year 50+ cars will compete on the course which is about 3/4 mile long with 8 turns\, up Wilco Road. \nThe hillside offers fantastic spectating as the cars wind their way up the hill where spectators can sit nearly above the race cars – close\, but safe from the action. DESCRIPTION:The Port Oneida Fair is a family-friendly event showcasing the traditional skills and crafts of by-gone days at historic farms and a one-room schoolhouse. Every August\, the Port Oneida Rural Historic District comes alive with activity true to the period when it was a community of robust settlers. Step back in time at the two-day Port Oneida Fair to experience life as it was in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Take the shuttle bus\, hike\, bike\, or drive (if you must!) to the select historic sites where traditional rural crafts and activities take place. \nOver 60 demonstrators will be hard at work. Children can try their hand at crosscut sawing and other farm implements. Horses mow in the fields while artists create paintings inspired by the cultural landscape. Displays of antique bicycles and phonographs\, engines. Watch the art of basket weaving\, buttermaking\, spinning\, and hand tools crafting a functional piece. Barn tours\, music\, re-enactments\, horse\, and other animals engage the sense. Pack a picnic lunch to eat under a tree\, or purchase food at various sites.
